Please pray for a young lady named Betty. She came by today from the island on Lake Victoria where I taught bible courses in ‘08. In her 30’s, Betty is a gov’t teacher and has not been paid for 10 months now. Her first husband left her for another woman and she has two children in the 3rd and 4th grades that are staying with her sister and not in school. She also has a two year old from a relationship with an addict that she left last year. Extremely articulate and a bright smile but has had a hard life from poor choices. And yet, she still quotes the song I heard her sing outside the window one day while I was reviewing papers in “08, “God will make a way when there seems to be no way…” I reminded her of a picture she showed me one day of the young lady from America who discipled her. I also reminded her that God still loves her and He does have a way if she will follow Him. We fed her at the children’s house – tomorrow she goes back home to the island to continue teaching until they find her on the payroll papers. A common story – too common for too many.

Some of the children walked with me to the new property. We played in the rain, measured and looked for survey markers, ate flat bread and had a great time !

The new drinking water tank before we concreted the courtyard. A new 55 gal. treatment tank has to be added to the left of this tank on a metal stand. Another pair of 55 gallon tanks need to be added to the girls side to mimic this system. In September, we will get a new treatment system donated by Life Water that will use these tanks.

Boy’s courtyard. The avocado trees were kept with soil about 2 feet around them. The new 1000L drinking water tank is on the end near the front door in the center/back of this picture. The rain will now pass to an outside drainage pit in the far right corner near the drinking water tank.

Hi everyone! First chance on internet that is working in over 5 days – Praise Jesus!!! Will be without electricity for at least a month they say – someone stole the oil from the transformer in my neighborhood and it blew up ! Now they have to import one Connected generator to the house yesterday but that will be only 3-4 hours a day since gas is $5.50 a gallon – but Praise God its down from $6.50 ! Blessings to some family n friends who are getting funds together for solar. Kind of funny – the kids have better lights – really nice there and no hmmmm or fuel !!! Thank you Jesus for simple things ! Kids are doing well – three young boys have been skipping school to go play soccer and make some change to buy sugar cane n see movies. Please pray that Jesus will change their heart and convince them to do the right things – be wise. Thanks for praying for us – Blessings to all !!!!

A cool moment yesterday. Emma, one of my wonderful older boys who feels called to be a pastor, came by and apologized to me. He has such a sweet spirit but was lured by other boys to a soccer game Sunday morning and did not reply to my request to translate for me. I love my kids – they are a testimony to God’s continuing work in their hearts. Thank you Jesus!!!

God is faithful and true. He is our hope and our life. God sustains us always and loves us more than anyone can. He has a plan for our blessing and joy. This morning, the water was cut off at the kids house by the city. We have been in a budget crisis, everyone doing all we can but God… We have rain barrels there and even now as I write this I hear thunder. Lord Jesus no matter how You plan to do it – we Praise You and Thank You for the “rain”!!!

In spite of fever n pain – had a good short bible study with the kids last night – stirring up their hearts to seek Christ above all. Good discussion and interaction – love my kids ! Have quite a few with allergies – no rain for a month now but this is dry season – just usually not this dry.

Having some good Bible studies with kids – about 15 can fit in the room where I am in the day time. Too hot in the room where I sleep – dry season – no rain. They are killing Christians all around us – Sudan, Kenya, Congo and (Nigeria to the east of us) its on the news here – but Christ promised we would be hated and persecuted – no surprise – Matt 5/John 15-17. Mob mentality and revenge is too common. Teaching the kids to Love everyone – even those who consider themselves our enemies – love, give and bless – then they can see Jesus and some will be redeemed.

In October/November we tried to install the last set of solar lights for the kids but the mice had eaten the wires on the lights installed in August. We tried just trapping but then we had to buy poison and wait for them to pass on. This did not happen before 5 lights had been damaged, On Tuesday, we repaired the wires and connected all the new panels – we had to replace some small wires for the led lights that were installed last year by Blake Taylor and Josh Shields. But now all the lights are working, the mice are gone and it looks like a warm glow from the kids house at night ! Surprise Christmas lights tonight !

We’re back! Been offline for a week! Been working on lights, beds and the old truck with the kids help. Teaching older ones how things work and what to do. Welding the holes up and finished installing all the new parts today. Clutch, brakes, steering, shocks, etc all new! Kids are great! Finishing exams and all will be out for Christmas this week! Pray for Jen, Topi and Sumaya having hernia surgeries this week. Please pray for Scovia, Susan’s mom – high blood pressure but on meds. Blessings!
